We’re a group of student pilots who started DPE Debrief with one simple goal:
Make it easier to find honest, accurate information about Checkrides.
As we worked our way through our own checkrides, we realized just how frustrating it was to find reliable gouges, examiner expectations, and real-world feedback. We were left scouring old forum threads, and swapping stories in flight school hallways — all while preparing for some of the most important flights of our lives.
We thought: Why isn’t there a centralized, trustworthy place to share and learn about DPEs and Check Airmen — kind of like RateMyProfessor, but for pilots?
So we built one.
DPE Debrief is a community-driven platform where pilots can:
- Share real-world experiences from checkrides and evaluations
- Provide helpful feedback about their examiners
- Read up on what to expect — and how to prepare
We believe better information leads to better outcomes — and fewer surprises on checkride day.
Whether you’re preparing for your first solo or your CFI checkride, we hope this platform helps reduce stress, raise awareness, and build a stronger pilot community. We’re not here to bash or praise — just to provide honest insight that helps others fly safer and smarter.
Fly safe,
The DPE Debrief Team ✈️
